A host of Callaghan Innovation clients have been recognised for their achievements as entrepreneurs and exporters.
At the American Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand (AmCham) awards on August 20, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare (Supreme Winner; best over $5m) and ARANZ Medical ($500,000 – $5m) both took home awards for best exporter.
Bessemer Ventures was also recognised for its investment into Callaghan Innovation client Rocket Lab.
The winners receive free shipping worth between $1000 and $2000 with DHL Express and 100,000 Hawaiian Airlines Miles.
However, the eventual winners weren’t the only firms with a Callaghan connection on the night. Recent ventures STQRY and StretchSense were finalists in the under $500,000 exporter category, with McKay Ltd ($500,000 – $5m), Scott Technology, Compac, Vista Entertainment, JMP Engineering and Constellation Brands (all over $5m) finalists in the higher-value categories.
The same night, EY announced the category winners of their Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, Hamish Kennedy of Compac, Chris Heaslip and Eliot Crowther of Pushpay, and John Wikstrom of Magic Memories learned they will compete for the overall Entrepreneur of the Year title on October 15.
Kennedy won the Technology and Emerging Industries category, Heaslip and Crowther were recognised as the best Young Entrepreneurs and Wikstrom was the best in the Services category.
