Here is a selection of the best things going on at our founder incubators and other start-up-friendly partners:
First IPO from The Icehouse
Adherium (formerly Nexus6) utilises digital technology to improve medication adherence and health outcomes for patients with chronic respiratory disease.
Initially set up to combat asthma and incubated at The Icehouse – one of the Founder Incubators supported by Callaghan Innovation – they were listed on the ASX on August 26 with an intention to raise IPO of up to $35m.
A great milestone for everyone involved, including The Icehouse and ICE Angels who helped Adherium make an awesome start!
Lightning Lab Christchurch
Ten digital start-up ventures have been selected to participate in Lightning Lab Christchurch #LLCHCH.
The programme is being delivered by Canterbury Development Corporation, with support from Callaghan Innovation and Spark.
For the next 12 weeks the teams will undergo intensive mentoring, business up-skilling and networking at the GreenHouse Innovation hub within the Christchurch Innovation Precinct.
You can see the list of participating start-ups here.
Lightning Lab Manufacturing
For the first time in New Zealand, a pilot accelerator named Lightning Lab Manufacturing is being hosted in Lower Hutt, Wellington.
This is aimed at providing start-ups with a physical product the opportunity to accelerate the growth of their venture.
Seven start-ups embarked on their Lightning Lab Manufacturing journey on Monday 24th August, and the #LLMFG Demo Day in November will mark the culmination of the programme.
Creative HQ is one of the Founder Incubators supported by Callaghan Innovation. In October this year they are curating LEAN 15 – a conference whereby entrepreneurs and corporate innovators will come together.
Internationally sought-after speakers will share their insights and experiences in applying the Lean start-up methodology to real world problems, the process of de-risking and meeting customer demand.
